On June 28th, the cloud commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the friendly exchange between Dalian University of Technology and Renhe University was successfully held in a combination of online and offline ways. Mr. Choi Ki-young, Vice President of Inha University, Mr. Guo Yongxi, Representative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shenyang in Dalian, Mr. Cheng Yingjun, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Dalian Municipal People's Government, Mr. Luo Zhonghyun, Vice President of Inha University, Mr. Lu Anhui, Assistant President of Inha University, and more than 100 relevant representatives from the international exchange management department, mathematics and biomedical engineering departments of the two universities were present.
Vice President Luo Zhongxuan said that over the past 15 years, the two universities have carried out various forms of friendly exchange activities such as academic seminars, study abroad exchanges and short-term exchange visits, and the cooperation fields cover many disciplines such as mathematics, software, architecture and art, and have achieved fruitful results. It is hoped that in the future, we will continue to expand the cooperation platform with Inha University to create opportunities for the exchange of students, teachers and scientific research cooperation on a larger scale and a wider range, and jointly cultivate a large number of Chinese and Korean natural and engineering science and technology talents with peer friendship, so as to make more contributions to the overall situation of the friendship between China and South Korea in the field of higher education.
Vice President Cui Jiyong said that the two universities have strong teaching strength and scientific research strength in science and engineering. In the past 15 years, the two universities have strengthened research cooperation through exchanges and visits and academic conferences to strengthen friendly cooperation, and jointly built a golden friendship and planned a new direction of international development. Guo Yongxi said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the ROK in 1992, the two countries have achieved fruitful results in many fields such as economy, culture and education. Dalian, as a "close neighbor", has carried out various forms of exchanges with the ROK in education since the establishment of diplomatic ties. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea. We look forward to the cooperation between the two universities, and further in-depth cooperation in the fields of scientific and technological personnel training and cutting-edge science and technology development, so as to contribute to the exchanges in the field of education between the two countries.
Director Cheng Yingjun said that the 15 years of friendly exchanges between the two schools are a good example of non-governmental exchanges between China and the ROK. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and South Korea and is also the year of cultural exchanges between China and South Korea. Since the establishment of friendly cooperative relations between Dalian City and Incheon Metropolitan City in 1994, the two sides have had close and frequent exchanges in the fields of economy, trade, culture and education. In the afternoon, the academic exchange seminar on biomedical engineering and mathematics of the two universities was successfully held online and offline. More than 120 teachers and students from the two universities conducted academic exchanges and discussions on mathematics, artificial intelligence, cancer immunotherapy and other topics.
Background of the event
The year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between China and Japan, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the ROK, and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Belarus. In order to give full play to the advantages of the university's international cooperation and enhance the mutual understanding and trust of Chinese and foreign young people, the university will hold a series of cloud activities to commemorate the anniversary of the cooperation between Dalian University of Technology and overseas friendly universities throughout the year, with the theme of "Dialogue in Asia, Dialogue in the World, and Promoting international exchanges in higher education in the post-pandemic era".
